Built around your allergies
There's wheat in your soy sauce.
Most soy sauce is brewed with wheat, and menus almost never say so. Savya is a free app that reads restaurant menus against your allergies — it leaves out what you can't eat and tells you what's worth asking about.
What menus don’t say
The wheat is rarely in the name.
- Gluten
Soy sauce, teriyaki, eel sauce
are usually brewed with wheat
- Gluten
Miso, the darker kinds
are often fermented with barley
- Gluten
Hoisin, gochujang, char siu
are usually made with wheat
- ShellfishGluten
Oyster sauce
is shellfish, and usually thickened with wheat
- Gluten
Fries
often share a fryer with breaded food
- Dairy
Vegetables and steaks
are usually finished in butter
With gluten on your list
The picks leave it out. The rest gets a question.
Tell Savya you can't have gluten and it reads the whole menu with that as a hard rule: dishes it rules out never make your list. Under the picks, a note covers what a menu can't show — like a shared fryer.
And when a dish carries something menus rarely print, Savya says so, with the exact question to ask your server.
How it works
Tell it once. It reads every menu that way.
- 1
Set your allergies
The big nine plus mollusks, or type your own. Add diets too — vegetarian, halal, kosher, no pork.
- 2
Photograph the menu
Or scan the table’s QR code. Savya reads every dish and what it’s usually made with.
- 3
Order with the question ready
Picks that leave your allergies out, and the exact words to say about anything worth checking.
Why people with allergies use it
It does the asking-ahead for you.
What to ask, word for word
A question a server can answer without guessing what you meant — “Is the soy sauce here wheat-based, or do you keep a tamari?”
It reads between the lines
Savya checks each dish against what it’s usually made with, not only the words printed next to it.
More than allergies
Diets, rules and things you just don’t eat — no cilantro, no raw fish, mild only — all checked the same way.
Free, and always will be
The allergy features are never behind a paywall. Not now, not later.
Savya reads the menu. It can't see the kitchen.
It reads what the menu says and what dishes like it usually contain. Recipes change and kitchens share equipment, so always tell your server about your allergies. This isn't medical or nutritional advice.

One app for the whole meal.
Know what to order
Photograph the menu. Savya reads every dish and hands back the few that are yours, each with a reason.
Want to go, and Been
Save a place the second you hear about it. Everywhere you’ve eaten keeps itself, with what you ordered.
Your taste persona
Pick what you love to eat and Savya writes the kind of eater that makes you. Short, specific, a little too accurate.
A dining journal worth keeping
Photograph the dishes, rate them, leave a note. A weekly dining streak and a Savya Score keep count of the nights out.
